Lane Electronics is stepping up its presence in the UK and Ireland interconnect solutions market. The specialist distributor has added three Business Development Managers to its team each with a responsibility for key market sectors.

“Our new Business Development Managers each have responsibility for a specific sector and the connector manufacturers relevant to that business area. Mick Varley has Aerospace and Defence, Kevin Bottomley has Industrial and RF while Peter Costin has Motorsport and the Geophysical industry. All three bring to Lane many years of experience working with electro-mech products,” revealed Lane’s Sales Director Patrick Jarman.

Bottomley joins from UK-based manufacturer TT Electronics where he headed a global commercial team. He also spent 16 years at ITW developing and growing sales of its’ switch and connector portfolio throughout Europe.

Varley arrives from a 14-year stint at Amphenol. He used his early career time at Marconi Communications in Chelmsford to gain extensive knowledge of the MIL/Aero connector product ranges.

Costin’s experience of selling electronic connector systems to the automotive and motorsport sectors spans more than three decades and includes time with AMP, Servo Interconnect and most recently Souriau. He is responsible for developing Lane’s Motorsport Division which works alongside racing teams and harness manufacturers supplying connector solutions based around the Souriau 8STA series and a variety of insulation and protection devices from HellermannTyton.

Lane represents many of the industry’s leading connector manufacturers and is an ideal source for all key connector types including circular, RF, coaxial, IDC, PCB connectors, edge connectors and connectors for rack and panel applications.
