Take over of 2.2MW biogas plant in North Germany

As of 1st August 2018, Nordmethan, a company of the WELTEC BIOPOWER Group, has taken over an insolvent biogas plant in Südergellersen, Lower Saxony. The German specialist for the development and operation of biomethane and biogas plants will fully modernise the technical and operational overall concept of the 2.2 Megawatt plant.

Biogas plant expands sustainable growth in Uruguay

German plant manufacturer WELTEC BIOPOWER has recently signed a contract for a biogas plant extension of the milk powder producer Estancias del Lago (EDL) in Uruguay. From late 2018, the plant with its eight digesters will generate a rated thermal input of more than 6MW from cattle manure and fodder leftovers. The company will use the biogas for drying and steam generation purposes in the production process.

Biogas plant doubles in capacity to supply 1,000 households

  In Iffendic, Brittany, German biogas plant manufacturer WELTEC BIOPOWER is currently working on an extension AD project with its French partner WELTEC Agripower. The biogas plant in Iffendic had already been built back in 2014, and now its capacity is being doubled. The biogas plant now generates 500kW a day, enough to supply almost 1,000 households.

WELTEC BIOPOWER receives best international commercial plant award

At the UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo 2017 in Birmingham on 5th July 2017, WELTEC BIOPOWER received the renowned AD & Biogas Industry Award in two categories from the British anaerobic digestion association ADBA. An independent expert jury nominated the German biogas plant manufacturer in the category 'Best international agricultural project' in recognition of its 800kW plant in Colombia.

Energy generated by synergies in pig farms

Summer 2016 saw WELTEC BIOPOWER go live in in Varazdin, northern Croatia. The 250kW plant of the pig farmer Dalibor Vrček perfectly suits the farm's cycle of food production, liquid manure utilisation and energy production in the form of power, heat and fertiliser. The slurry from a newly erected pigsty with 130 sows and 2800 porkers forms the basis for the energy production.

Fast construction of biogas plants is more important than ever

The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has announced a consultation period on proposed changes to the feed-In tariff accreditation. The consultation is relatively short and runs up to the 19th August. For the biogas industry this is likely to mean the abolition of pre-accreditation. This makes it possible in the future to lower the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) during the development phase of anaerobic digestion projects up to 5mW capacity.

Biogas plant provides efficient power & heating

In January 2015, WELTEC BIOPOWER started building an anaerobic digestion plant in Loughgall, Northern Ireland. The customer and operator of the 500kW plant is the vegetable producer Gilfresh Produce, which grows various products and processes them into food. The plant is set to reduce the amount of wastage incurred on the site, as well as generate energy to be used in production and to be fed back to the grid.
