Z-Wave Alliance to showcase environmentally friendly home control solutions at Light+Building 2012

The Z-Wave Alliance will be there as a specialist in energy-efficient and environmentally conscious home control systems. Imec hosts major international conference on crystalline silicon solar cells

Today, the second edition of the International Conference on Silicon Photovoltaics takes off in Leuven (Belgium). The Si PV conference is a high-level scientific conference on advanced crystalline silicon solar cell technology. This 2nd edition is hosted by imec, a well-known leading R&D center in the domain of nanotechnology with a long-standing tradition in photovoltaics (PV). The conference features inspiring invited lectures, oral and poster presentations describing the most recent advances in the field, and serves as a platform for intensive discussions among experts.

STMicroelectronics Named Among Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations

STMicroelectronics has announced that for the third year in succession it has been ranked among the “Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations” by Corporate Knights 1, a company dedicated to promoting “clean capitalism.” In the 2012 list announced on January 25, ST advanced 8 places to the 75th place on the list, compared to No. 83 in 2011 and No. 87 in 2010. It is one of the only three semiconductor manufacturers to be included in the Global 100 list.

Launch of Solar Purchasing Group

A new company launches with the aim of negotiating discounts for member companies on material and components they buy for solar PV manufacturing. Solar Purchasing Group (SPG) works on the principle of cooperative purchasing. Member companies are able to collectively assert greater purchasing leverage for the materials and components they need, such as glass, cells, back sheets, junction boxes, EVA, stringing material along with other peripheral materials.
