Humber To Host Norwegian Wind Energy Mission

Nanosolar, Inc. today announced that Eugenia Corrales has been named chief executive officer. Current CEO Geoff Tate will retire after two years at the company. Mr. Tate recruited Ms. Corrales in May 2010 to serve as the executive vice president of engineering and operations.

National Instruments Announces 2012 Green Engineering Grant Programme

National Instruments has announced that it will renew its Green Engineering Grant programme in 2012. In the last two years, the programme has provided assistance to more than 40 companies developing next-generation control and measurement solutions in the renewable energy market. The programme helps small companies and research groups around the world with up to £25,000 in software and training for graphical system design tools and techniques.

AEG Power Solutions Is Awarded a 6MW contract for Hydrogen Electrolysis Process in Hybrid Power Generation Plant

AEG Power Solutions has been awarded its 4th order for its innovative power supply system for electrolysis within one year. This recent order is the biggest one signed by AEG PS for the Thyrobox H2 during the past 12 months. The AEG PS power supply system will be used for the hydrogen electrolyzer with a total capacity of 6 MW, in a hybrid power generation plant under construction in the North of Germany.

Siemens strengthens its position in ocean power

Siemens has acquired the majority stake in Marine Current Turbines Ltd., the UK company based in Bristol, which develops and builds tidal power systems. “The acquisition of Marine Current Turbines is an important step forward for the Solar & Hydro Division,” said Ted Scheidegger, CEO of the Solar & Hydro Division of Siemens Energy. “We will continue to drive the commercialization of this promising technology which harvest energy from highly predictable tidal streams.

Nexans wins over 50 million Euro contract to supply high-voltage power cable for Northwind offshore wind farm

Nexans has won a contract worth more than 50 million Euro to supply a total of 57 km of high-voltage subsea power export cables to Northwind NV in the North Sea. The project comprises 14 km of cable to connect Belwind Phase 2 to the Northwind wind farm (formerly known as Eldepasco), together with a further 43 km of cable that will transfer a total of 381 MW produced by both wind farms to the onshore grid connection at Zeebrugge.
