Vincotech has announced the release of a new line of three-level power modules engineered to achieve highest efficiency for single-phase solar inverters, even at reactive power. Packaged in the most compact flow 1 housing, flowPACK 1 H6.5 combines excellent performance with remarkable cost efficiency.

Size and cost are key concerns for single-phase solar inverters. On top of that, they demand a level of efficiency that the conventional H-bridge topology cannot deliver in freewheeling mode. They need a solution with a dynamic short in the output that enables energy to circulate without losses, and without charging back the input supply.

The flowPACK 1 H6.5 is designed with size, cost and efficiency in mind, making it solution of choice for single-phase solar inverters. The schematics below illustrate how this special topology works:

The patented Heric inverter serves as the benchmark for comparison. The measurements below indicate VIN H6.5's efficiency in contrast to that of Heric and simple H-bridge single-phase solar inverters under typical operating conditions.

The new full-bridge flowPACK 1 H6.5 module comes in a compact, low inductive flow 1 housing and  covers 3 to 6 kW applications ranging up to 50 kHz.

Samples may be sourced on demand from our usual channels as of July 2016.
