Saft Deliver Reliable Power To Wind Turbine LED Emergency Lighting Units

Saft have today announced delivery of 4,000 nickel-metal hydride battery packs to Spain’s IED Green Power. The specialist electronics manufacturer for the wind energy sector has selected Saft’s rechargeable AA-sized VHT batteries to power its new generation LVD waterproof LED emergency lighting units for installation in wind generators, where the harsh conditions prevent the reliable operation of traditional lighting systems.

Mitsubishi Electric introduces its 6th generation Mega Power Dual Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor modules. The modules, which are for use in power converters such as large-capacity photovoltaic and wind power generation systems, are also suitable for other high-power applications e.g. in the areas of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems and AC motor control.

Lanner Electronics unveiled the LEC-3000 series, a full range of fanless power communication platforms. This series includes both DIN-railed and rack-mount platforms. DIN-rail platforms consist of the LEC-3070, LEC-3010, and LEC-3012. The LEC-3100 (1U), LEC-3110 (1U), LEC-3200 (2U) and LEC-3210 (2U) have rack-mount form factors.

Wind River announced that Bachmann electronic relies on Wind River VxWorks real-time operating system and Wind River Professional Services for its next-generation controller system. Bachmann electronic’s M1 controller system, a next-generation controller, is standardized on VxWorks, and includes modules for digital and analogue I/O, network connectivity, fieldbuses, safety, and a processor module.

Gamesa launches a new turbine, the G114-2.0 MW: maximum returns for low-wind sites

Gamesa on the occasion of one of the sector's key events, EWEA 2012 Copenhagen (Denmark), announces the launch of a new wind turbine: the G114-2.0 MW Class IIIA, designed to achieve maximum returns from low-wind sites. The G114 turbine, with unit capacity of 2.0 MW, features a a 114-metre diameter new rotor with a swept area of 10,207 m² that increases a 38-percent in swept area plus a 20-percent increase in annual energy output compared with the G97-2.0 MW turbine.

LM Wind Power’s launches LM e-Load that reduces time to market on wind turbine projects.

LM Wind Power customers can now benefit from reduced time to market by using the new LM e-Load developed in cooperation with GL Garrad Hassan based on its Bladed 4.1 software. The online web service provides access to the industry's largest blade catalogue and helps wind turbine manufacturers speed up the blade qualification process significantly.
