MaxLite partners with the Department of Energy
MaxLite announces it has become one of the first companies in the lighting industry to join the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) as an Innovation Partner in its Zero Energy Ready Homes (ZERH) programme. The ZERH label helps consumers identify a high-performance home so energy efficient that a small renewable energy system could offset most or all of its annual energy consumption.
As an Innovation Partner, MaxLite supports the ZERH programme by manufacturing ENERGY STAR certified LED lighting products that can be used to build or create zero energy homes. To earn the ZERH label, a home must meet all of the criteria found in the DOE’s programme requirements; be verified by a qualified third party; and be at least 40 to 50 percent more energy-efficient than a typical new home.
