The Power Sources Manufacturers Association's (PSMA) Energy Harvesting Committee is sponsoring an Industry Presentation session at APEC 2012 entitled Energy Harvesting End-to-End: Technologies and Techniques for Building Zero Power Systems.” The session will take place on Tuesday morning, February 7, 2011 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida and will feature seven experts from the commercial, research institute and university sectors.
This special event will provide an overview of progress in the challenging areas of energy harvesting-based power for devices such as wireless sensors, data loggers, asset tracking, security and patient monitors.

This Industry Session provides an overview of energy harvesting technologies including transducers, ultra-low power conversion electronics, energy storage devices, low power microcontrollers with energy aware firmware and advanced low power wireless protocols. “Tear downs” of real world energy harvesting-based systems will be presented. Attendees will gain insights into some of the key technologies and design techniques that are enabling millions of small devices currently being deployed.
Arnold Alderman, Anagenesis Inc., chair of the PSMA Energy Harvesting Committee stated: This industry presentation session provides valuable information on the unique challenges of building energy harvesting-based systems and presents both a timely and unique opportunity for attendees to interact with other professionals who have an active interest and are participating in this product space. We encourage people to register for APEC 2012 and to make plans to attend the session and to consider participating in the other PSMA-sponsored meetings during the week.
