No more waiting at the bus stop, Orbit will be with you in a flash
Designer and manufacturer of electric vehicles, Fisker has created an autonomous electric shuttle called Orbit, which will feature Protean Electric's in-wheel eDrive technology which allows the vehicle to maximise interior space while further redefining the future of short trip mobility.
Distributed energy solutions of tomorrow
Energy systems require high reliability, performance, security and scale across the critical infrastructure. With RTI Connext DDS, Real-Time Innovations (RTI) aims to provide a solid foundation for advanced and intelligent energy systems of tomorrow. Industrial-strength data sharing can improve power generation and distribution and enable the efficient use of renewable energy resources at large scale.
DC rapid EV charger partnership signed
Delta has announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with Rolec EV, one of Europe´s leading EV charge point manufacturers and installers. Under the terms of the agreement, Delta´s range of DC EV chargers will be available within the UK with immediate effect from Rolec EV.
A more accurate way to estimate climate change
It doesn’t matter if it’s a forest, a soybean field, or a prairie, all plants take up carbon dioxide during photosynthesis – the process where they use sunlight to convert water and carbon dioxide into food. During this changeover, the plants emit an energy 'glow' that is not visible to the human eye, but can be detected by satellites in space. Now, researchers at the University of New Hampshire have taken that one step further.
Screen-printing process for efficient n-PERT solar cells
Imec, within the partnership of EnergyVille, has announced that it has realised highly efficient n-PERT (Passivated Emitter and Rear Totally diffused) solar cells using an industry-compatible screen-printing process. Together with Jolywood, imec developed industry-compatible bifacial cells with an average front-side conversion efficiency of 21.9%. Based on this process, imec also demonstrated screen-printed monofacial n-PERT cells with a con...
Project to develop hybrid electric systems accelerates
Northumberland-based automotive clean-tech firm, AVID Technology has secured part of a major project with global luxury car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover. AVID is working in collaboration with a consortium of six partners, including Jaguar Land Rover, to develop advanced hybrid electric vehicle systems as part of a £20.8m R&D project supported by the Advanced Propulsion Centre.
Electrifying vehicle technologies in the modern era
Despite appearing to be a modern phenomenon, the first electric vehicle took to the road in 1832 and in 1899, outselling all other available options, including steam and gasoline powered vehicles. Since 1935, with the invention of the internal combustion engines, gasoline-powered vehicles have become the popular choice. This changed in 2016, which saw a record in the sale of electric vehicles worldwide, with 750,000 cars sold.
Electric container truck to be revealed at TOC Europe
The latest updates about the electric Hyster laden container handler currently in development will be presented at TOC Europe. During the event in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Jan-Willem van den Brand and Willem Nieuwland from Hyster Europe will share the latest information on the much anticipated project during a TECH TOC seminar at 12pm on Thursday 14th June.
E-Mobility solutions move forward at EV Tech Expo 2018
At the Electric & Hybrid Technology Expo Europe 2018, in Hannover, 15th-17th May, HUBER+SUHNER will present its quality power solutions to combat the demand for fast charging systems in the most harsh and demanding environments.
Fleet of longer range EVs hit the roads in London and Paris
UPS and ARRIVAL are working together to develop a pilot fleet of 35 electric delivery vehicles (EVs) to be trialed in London and Paris. These zero tailpipe emission, lightweight composite vehicles have a battery range of more than 150 miles (240km), which is higher than other EVs currently in service. The vehicles will also come equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) that help to improve safety and reduce driver fa...
